Yesterday, a group of 20 international media and tour operators crossed the border between Albania and Macedonia and came to St. Naum where we welcomed them and continued on bikes to the restaurant "Ostrovo" for a nice welcoming dinner.
During the next four days we'll be travelling through our beautiful country where they shall get to know the local touristic offers and get in touch with the tourism sector. After Kosovo and Albania, Macedonia is the last country on the list, as part of the two week tour "Adventure week – Western Balkan"
The aim of the tour is to connect the local markets for active tourism in these countries with the tour operators from North America and Western Europe in order to attract more foreign tourists.
Some of the participants are: the chief editor of National Geographic Traveler, Keith Bellows; the editor of Yahoo Travel, Jo Piazza; the editor for Southeast and East Europe of Lonely Planet, Brana Vladisavljevic as well as other influential media from this sector.
The group is going to visit st. Naum, Ohrid, Galicica, Prespa, Heraklea, Dihovo, Treskavec, Krushevo, Mavrovo and Skopje. On September 4th the participants will have the chance to visit some other regions in Macedonia, such as Kokino, Stobi and the Tikves region.
The tour "Adventure week – Western Balkans" is organized by the International Association for Active Tourism in collaboration with the USAID project for expansion of small businesses, the Agency for Promotion and Support of Tourism and a number of businesses in the tourism sector in Macedonia.
Apart from the natural beauty, the group will have the chance to enjoy the traditional Macedonian music, food, and culture, as well as take part in a number of sport activities such as tandem paragliding, mountain biking, rock climbing and hiking.
Well, we had some time while cruising the Ohrid Lake to tell you where we're at and what we're doing. Our next stop is Galicica and a lot of adrenalin. Follow us on our Facebook page – karas4training.com for short updates and moments of adrenalin rush, and once we're back we'll
